Of most essential factors of harmonious living, being in accord with the divine supported frames is important. Role modelling with non-virtuous elements precipitates vanity and double-end loss. It is to this end that we glorify Almighty Allah (SubhanaHu Wa Ta'ala (SWT)) particularly on the guidance. We equally bless the soul of the noble Messenger Muhammad (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam (SAW)) on whose mission's stable man is blessed with unparalleled leadership qualities. Believers should always address minds to the worthy and exemplary traits of the Prophets and their loyal adherents till eternity.
The fact that life is evolving signals structural dynamism in the manners and approaches of most things aimed at auccess in life. For instance, some four to five decades ago, children often served the cause of family economically and many skills were passed down to them for everlasting sustenance.
Today, parents' experience is that of toiling efficiently to meet the demands of raising children at all cost without the young ones having causes to contribute to the family's economy. Western tricks is at play which often brands child mentoring a manner of abuse! The building experience capable of sustaining young ones in future eludes them and the value is eroded. How on earth can an Artisan's child become utterly floater and loafer? Parentage had changed and child's training is left in the hands of teachers who are rather 'cheaters' and parents swallow hook-line-and-sinker without attempt to sift the components. Old culture of folktales and moonlight story-telling had assumed electronic-communication dimension, leaving shattered bond among family members. Individuality takes over the position of collective approach to child training and allien and gutter culture filters across the fabrics of the society.
One thing is certain. The best development that happened to us in this part of the clime in the last twenty-six years is the use of phone and of course social media in contra-distinction to its worse approach to its use. The question coming to mind remains 'what approach do we employ to the use of phone and social media?' In fact, a man was recently walking on walk-way and fell into the gutter as a result of being engrossed in pressing phone. Some had been victims of accident as a result of fixing earpiece and musical gadgets. Many a time vehicular road users swarf off the road to avoid knocking down 'social-media lunatics' on the road.
The home as a micro unit of the general macrocosm appears failing in this respect. The society is now feasting on clueless music that rather portray sexual and ritual tendency. Home-made video is dominated by 'leaking brains' who are portrayed as heroes. One wonders 'how someone can give what he has not' in view of the situation where a mistress gives instructions on how to keep a home. Examples abound and we had lost counts of them in the society.
To this extent, envisaged solutions to most of the reasons for under-development strike in the fact that the home has lost the grip of control of morality and the society appears on the brim of disintegration. Religious bodies also fall accomplice in view of the fact that it can only build on the products of home. One thing leads to another and the corroborative effects of which take much toll on the corporate existence in the society is evodent.
The manner of marital relationship is not left out of the scene. The adults of blessed endeavours giving back to GenZ generation are products of parent-defacto marriage. Some relationships arose from the prevail of parents with or without any form of compensation other than the admiration for the benefactor origin, knowledge environment and possible producing knowledgeable offsprings. Today, relationship attractions begin on social media, facilitation follows not minding the distance and vulnerability to probable dreaded evil. Many had met untimely end and products of such relationship become lack of religious guide and become utterly confused.
Learning of worth leads to knowledge and knowledge to wisdom as a proceed of observation, services and explorative exercise. The manner of phobia for skills and technical pursuits leaves much to be desired. An average construction site today host almost 800% adhoc and labour workers against indigenous. The same proportion is artisans' workshop which is dry in terms of apprentice. Skillful knowledge is becoming aenemic if not receiving live-support therapy. On the rescue is the constant shortage of manpower in that direction. This had lent credence to quick-rich syndrome culminating in daily revenue and entltlement mentality in vogue among youths.
It must be noted that unless the pendulum swings towards the pursuit of rewarding and skillful knowledge and being steadfast on it, readiness to serve humanity, minimizing leisure, exchewing entitlement mentality, being open to adaptive and exploration of more and new things, propagating golden heritage on ground, cultivating fear of Allah and estimating the power of prayer, this society might be postponing evil days. Idle hand -they say- is a devil's workshop. Much emphasis on certificates and less skills is an awful omen to individual and the corporate entity of the society.
