That day in 2021.
President Buhari asked Ipob terrorists group leader-Nnamdi Kanu and Ibo Elders including late Nwuanyanwu and others to be brought before him to decisively do with Biafra agitation and put into motion the process for Biafra and set the date for compulsory exodus of ibo from the territory of Nigeria.
Before I dwell further.
Let me give the background to Biafra agitation before that time.
Biafra crisis had once be created and dismantled from 1967 to 1970.
The ibo agenda for dominance from the failed take over the Yoruba land in the first republic when Azikiwe failed and was utterly disgraced by the simple Intelligent strategy of cross carpeting of Awolowo to the all ibo led two hydra headed coup of Nzeogwu with the back-up Ironsi coups that went wrong.
Those and many others culminated into ibo declaring Biafra by one late coward in the guiness book of World records Emeka Odumegwu Ojukwu.
Nigeria wouldn't have gone after him and destroyed Biafra if he had gone peacefully with his mainly ibo people and traditional iboland known as present Imo/Anambra/Abia/Enugu/Ebonyin of today.
But the stupid people overreached themselves and annexed what is today known as South South States that are not iboland with them.
Oil was just becoming the new economic and money spinning commodity then and Nigeria was emerging with it.
The crude oil were mainly in these South South region within the old Eastern region the ibo completely dominated, oppressed and marginalized and headed by an ibo man Odumegwu Ojukwu.
Nigeria would not have none of it.
The war was not intended by Nigeria at the declarational affront of the ibo dominated Biafra initially.
Nigeria only began with what is called POLICE ACTION until Ojukwu annexed again the then Midwest comprising the present Edo/Delta States.
That was the last straw that broke the camel's back.
Nigeria Military Government headed by Gen Yakubu Gowon flared up and declared full war and Biafra was crushed.
France,Israel,Haiti,Gabon,Zaire,Togo, Russia initially, White led apartheid South African Nation, Rhodesia now renamed Zimbabwe and host of other Nations saw opportunity of getting oil promised them by Ojukwu if they could support Biafra and actively participated in the war on the side of biafra by providing weapons and money to prosecute the war against Nigeria.
What quickly led to the defeat of Biafra was the audacious action of Ojukwu at attempting to invade the Yorubaland through Ore front to conquer Lagos and appoint Military Administrator as he did in the Midwest for Western Region and Lagos.
The all Yoruba General Benjamin Adekunle led 3rd Marine commandoes of the Nigerian Army gallantly rose to the occasion and routed the rampaging and invading Biafran Army and utterly defeated them.
The Ọrẹ battle was fiercely fought that to this day..it is still being relayed as ..ole kú, ija Ọrẹ!
Kudos to the great Yoruba warrior General Benjamin Adekunle aka Black scorpion.
Yorubaland shall never forget you till eternity.
At the end,Ojukwu ran away and his deputy having realized the futility of continuing with the war had to surrender in defeat to another Yoruba warrior and brave soldier -Olusegun Obasanjo.
The remnant of Biafra defeated Government leaders were taken captives to Lagos as prisoners of war to the Nigeria Federation Head of State General Yakubu Gowon as a birthday gift.
Over 7million ibo souls perished in that war with additional over 2million critically wounded.
Now back to Buhari vexed almost declaration of Biafra.
Nwazurike an ibo man saw an avenue to make money and enriching himself cheaply by exploiting the gullibility of the ibo people and the resentment of their self afflicted marginalization, segregation and exclusion from the Nigeria power equation.
He reenacted the dead Biafra and made a hell of empty noises and gra gra.
He made huge fortune from that 419 Biafra agitation business and later took the back seat.
Came into the fray was another 419 and scammer who was previously roaming the street of London jobless.
He was with Nwazurike and learnt the rope before then.
He began his own and introduced violence,bloodshed,propaganda and lies.
He was abusing everybody including the President -Buhari.
The ibo elders kept mum.
They tacitly approved his activities.
The guy declared himself the Supreme Leader of Biafra.
He established Ipob - Indigenous people of Biafra and later ESN -Eastern Security Network as the armed wing.
It is the same Ipob that has temporarily transmuted into the obidients movement - the headless mob group backing Peter obi Biafran Presidency of Nigeria now.
After the election is won and lost,they will go back to their original Ipo activities with the rhetoric slogan BIAFRA OR DEATH as usual.
Nnamdi Kanu embarked on the killing spree of his fellow ibo people in Biafraland.
He was later arrested.
He was put on trial and the initially see-no- evil Ibo elders begged and negotiated his release a seating ibo Senator Abaribe took surety for him.
Kanu later escaped into UK and jumped bail.
While Kanu was myopically looking towards Biafra Nation he could head as Head of State.
The ibo Elders and politicians had another distinct agenda.
Using the Biafra agitation to negotiate ceding of power to the South East and end the ibo marginalization.
Kanu began another wave of violence unleashed majorly on his iboland and people.
People were being kidnapped,killed,maimed and oppressed in Biafraland.even till now.
The Governors and the ibo elders had no answer to that.
They all obeyed and fearfully subservient under Nnamdi Kanu.
Later,the Nigerian Intelligence Service NIA,the Nigerian Intelligence Organization incharge of External Intelligence for Nigeria lured Kanu with a beautiful Kenya Lady into Nairobi,because the Government wanted to avoid the reminiscent of Diplomatic row with UK over the attempted adoption from London of Umaru Dikko by Buhari Military Government in 1984 with the help of Israeli Intelligence Mossad agents.
Kanu was a British Citizen.
He could not be adopted on the British soil to avoid another confrontation with the British Government.
Not that Kanu was important to the British but it would be an afront to the Sovereignty and territorial integrity of the UK because the British were not cooperating on helping to bring back Kanu to face trial in Nigeria.
With the cooperation of Kenya Intelligence.
Kanu was arrested in Nairobi in an hotel with the pretty Kenya Lady.he was set up with.
Pronto he was arrested and immediately extradited to Nigeria.
Kanu on arrival into Nigeria.
The Northern Elders prevailed on Buhari to let the ibo go.
Consequent upon that,He called the meeting of Ibo Elders consultative forum,ohaneze ndibo and some prominent Ibo politicians to a meeting in Aso villa.
Kanu was brought forward.
Buhari informed them his resolve to allow ibo exit Nigeria.
The ibo delegations looked aghast.
Very surprised and jolted.
They started asking Kanu questions.
How he thought Biafra would work and survive as a sovereign nation.
The space question,the landlock problem and leadership question.
Kanu in his usual braggadocio and empty arguments .
Said he would be the Interim leader because the ibo youth population loved and believe so much in him and trusted his leadership.
On the space issues, he said skyscrapers of between 50-120 storeys would dot the landscape of Biafraland to accommodate the teeming ibo population that would be on compulsory migration back home to the new Nation of Biafra.
The land of the rising sun which he promised would be another Dubai in another 5years of Nationhood.
That was what he had been deceiving the gullible ibo with all the time.
The promise of paradise on Earth.
Another Japan in Africa.
On the question of insufficient oil deposit in Biafraland and seaports for access to the Sea for import and export activities.
He said they would have to go with Rivers State and others.
Buhari then rescheduled the meeting to later date.
On resumption of the meeting.
Buhari had expanded the summit to include the Rivers Elders forum,Ibibio,Ijaw,Anang Elder etc etc from the South South.
Buhari asked them.
Are you part of Biafra and willing to go with Nnamdi Kanu led Biafra Nation.
Instead of those ones to answer.
It was curses upon curses they were heaping on the Ibos and Kanu.
They totally declined any association or cooperation with Ibos for Biafra Nation.
They pledged their allegiance to the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
At the end.
The Ibo elders were on all fours begging Buhari who was hellbent on going for National broadcast to pronounce the commencement for the establishment of Sovereign Nation of Biafra with declaration for referendum in the mainly ibo 5 states with ultimatum for the exit of all ibo from the territory of Nigeria.
The ibo elders also then followed suit with the South South Leaders and pledged allegiance to Nigeria as well and seriously rebuked Kanu.
They then urged Buhari to place Kanu on trial and convict him on treason.
The trial commenced in earnest.
When Tinubu assumed power,the offences are now widened to include terrorism charges that carries the maximum death penalty by firing squad.
Shortly after that,the aggrieved Northern Elders council approached an Abuja High Court with a suite to force and mandate Ibo secession from Nigeria.
The ibo Elders countered that suite deploying arrays of SANs to argue the matter.
Ibo Elders argued that,nobody or association or Organization had the mandate to force any Part or Ethnic Nationality out if Nigeria outside the of the law.
They the ibo won and the case rested.
That's why I laugh and laugh when I hear many gullible Ibos including so called educated among them shouting they should let ibo go ...Biafra or death and all those jargons.
Biafra is dead and gone forever because it can not work and at the same time ...no ibo shall be allowed to be Nigerian President forever.
Never!
Their exclusion from power is decisive and irrevocable.
